The aim of Energy Systems Laboratory (ESL) is the advancement of scientific knowledge and education in the field of Power Systems Engineering, Smart Grids, Microgrids, Building Installations and High Voltage Technology. The research activities of the laboratory include: Modeling, simulation and optimization of renewable (RES) and conventional energy systems; Smart energy grids and building installations; Energy production optimization and RES penetration; Tidal energy; Algorithms and optimization tools for load forecasting and demand management; Energy efficiency; Power quality; Testing and control of electromechanical building systems and lighting; Gamification & Educational and training programmes.
